The nurse's hat shape is so distinctive, I Googled it. According to Wikipedia, it was derived from a nun's habit and was first worn in its particular shape by Florence Nightingale. Very interesting Mute Monday – thanks!
love this post rhonda! and...have you ever wondered why we nurses wore ALL white back in the good ole' days? well, i mean i understand the thought behind it, but how practical is that? seriously....did they care for people with dressing changes and c-diff?....messy! and....let's bring the nursing cap back! gotta love that.
I'm a little bit country and a little bit cowgirl and a whole lot Southern. Jesus is first and foremost. Faith and family are everything to me. I'm married to Superman, Billy Graham and Tom Hanks all rolled into one. I'm on my honeymoon-have been for the last 32 years. I'm the luckiest person in the world, but HE acts like the lucky one. I have a daughter, a son and a daughter-in-love (not law); the best that money can buy except they're priceless. My first grandbaby Piper Ann was born on July 10, 2009, and she is a sweet little dumplin', beautiful as can be,and straight from Heaven! I also have a fat, spoiled weenie dog, named Deuce (from my former Harley days). He is secretly in love with Carmen the Wiener Princess. I guess you could say I'm blessed. Some people say I'm opinionated. Well I am. I'm a straight shooter... with my words AND my pistols. You don't have to wonder about what I'm thinking or where I stand. So feel free to listen in as often as you like.
FUN nurse's hats, NAN! I love this idea!!!! You're so clever! happy MM!

ReplyDeleteNever gave much thought to the nurse's "habit". I never realized there were so many different shapes and styles. I'll bet yours is in there somewhere.
